A: Yes, redundancyprotection.ie is the first insurance broker in Ireland specialising in protecting our customers against redundancy.
Q: What does your plan cover me against?
A: Redundancy proection standard plan covers you against redundancy, accident & illnesses. Optional benefits include hospitilisation & critical illness cover.
Q: I want the to get redundancy protection for myself, how do I set it up?
A: You can apply for cover online by clicking the "Apply Now" button at the top of the screen. Alternatively, you can call us on 1890 300 000, answer a few simple questions and we can get you covered immediately. It’s that simple!
Q: How do I pay for the cover?
A: Payment’s are by monthly Direct Debit.
Q: What occupations does the policy cover?
A: ALL OCCUPATIONS are covered including: • Self Employed • Temporary/Part time Workers (working for 6+ months) • Contract Workers • Employee (PAYE)
Q: Do I have to be a full time employee to be eligible for cover?
A: No! All occupations are covered including self employed, temporary/part time workers, contract workers and PAYE employee’s.
Q: What types of income does the policy cover?
A: All income types are covered including: • Salary / Wages • Overtime / Shift Allowance • Bonus / Commissions
Q: A lot of my salary is commission / overtime, can that be covered?
A: All income's are covered including salary/wages, overtime/shift allowance, bonus/commissions. ********** As you can see we cover literally all employment types and incomes.
Q: How long do I have to wait before I am covered by the policy?
A: The policy covers you from DAY 1 of being made redundant. This represents the most comprehensive cover available on the market. However the plan must be in force for 120 days before redundancy occurs for the plan to pay out(see terms & conditions for more information)
Q: Do I have to pay tax on the benefits of the policy?
A: No! The payouts from our plans are not classed as income which means you do not pay any tax on the benefits of the plan.
Q: How long does the policy pay me for if I am made redundant?
A: The plan will pay you for up to 12 months after you have been made redundant. ****Note: Accident, Illness, Hospitalisation & Critical Illness cover’s are available for either 12 or 24 months
Q: What is the maximum benefit I can cover myself for?
A: You can cover yourself to a maximum of 75% of your net(after tax) monthly income, to a maximum of €2000 per month. ****Example: Your salary is €2200 per month, maximum benefit = €2200 X 75% = €1650 per month.
Q: For Accident, Illness, hospitalisation & Critical illness cover, are there any exclusions?
A: The only exclusion is for pre existing conditions. That means if you've already suffered from a condition, that condition will not be covered.
Q: For Accident, illness, hospitalisation & critical illness cover, are there any medical questions?
A: No, there are absolutely no medical questions when applying for the cover.
Q: For the redundancy cover, are there any exclusions?
A: Redundancy Protection covers you for involuntary unemployment (i.e. where you are made redundant by the decision of your employer & not by your own choice). The terms of the cover are: 1) You must not be aware of your redundancy before taking out the policy. 2) You must be in continuous work of 6 months before your employment ends. 3) Voluntary redundancy is not covered. 4) Loss of job because of misconduct is not covered.
